Field Research

Field campaigns are an essential aspect of our research. The field is where we collect the inputs for our analyses and test out new data collection methods. Field research is different from laboratory-based or computational research. Challenges in the field need to be solved in real time, often with limited resources, and potentially in adverse weather conditions. If you enjoy problem solving you will undoubtedly enjoy the unique challenges of field work. Field work, of course, is not all work, it also provides a time to spend time together as a group, see new places, and try new food. When we are in the field we work hard, but also try to have a good time. Below are images from the field that attempt to illustrate that balance.
